So here we are for another Sailor Moon Review! This week we're kicking it off with the new Sailor Moon blanket released by GE over the summer of 2012!! The "unused" Sailor Moon Blanket pictures were used to display the blanket, as I couldn't get the entire blanket in one photo, without it looking small and losing the detailing.



Quality - The quality of this blanket is actually very nice. It's much more than I actually anticipated. When I think of "throw blanket" I don't necessarily think of "plush", but that's what this is, it is a plush blanket. Granted, it's not a thick plush or lush plush, but it is in fact plush none the less. Much better quality than the actual plush recently reviewed! The ONLY flaw with this blanket, is the edging itself. My daughter has had blankets like these in the past with the cheap fabric fold over edging and it comes apart every time. unfortunately, aside from stitching it all the way around yourself for added good measure, the odds of this happening with continued use is more than likely. But, if you take good care of the blanket and keep a good eye out for loose threads, you should allow this blanket to last all winter without any issues. ***NOTE: If you're looking to WASH this blanket, my personal recommendation is to place this in an oversized pillow case, make sure to tie or band off the end tight and wash it that way. Same with drying!! This will help in keeping the blanket from tearing apart at the seams!!***

Appearance - Looking at this blanket, with it's Sailor Moon front and bright smile, it's more than welcoming, it's heart warming! With Sailor Moon's signature phrase all around her and stars to offset it all, it really is nice to look at. Although, this one definitely is more geared towards girls. And though Usagi and I might be a little biased when it comes to coloring, I'll admit, it would have been much cooler to see Sailor Moon in her full coloring.

Packaging - The packaging itself for this blanket is a nice change of pace. With Sailor Moon seated atop her moon smiling happily it's much more than the usual GE has offered us the the past. Atop this, we have the measurements on there, to which 50" x 60" is a fair size for a blanket. Finally, mine managed to come in a plastic sealed bag. To which I adore, so I can keep my blanket clean when not in use.

Art - The artwork on this blanket is absolutely wonderful! It makes warming up on those cool days to come much more fun than usual! With Sailor Moon offering a bright smile, how can you NOT have a great day, despite the cold trying to ruin it for you?! I especially am fond of the way they incorporated the stars and logo around her, to keep the blanket from being too plain and yet, not too busy either.

Functionality - Functionally speaking, this blanket is intended to keep you warm. And for the most part it does. If you're looking for a lap blanket, this is definitely the blanket for you. If you're looking for a BED blanket, you might want to sew a couple of these together. And if you're looking for a blanket to keep you warm outside in -30F temperatures? You MIGHT want to look into a down filled blanket.. or a new place to live (O_O) .. This blanket is your run of the mill plush lap blanket. It's great for added warmth and comfort, but definitely not good enough on it's own to use on those harsh winter nights.

Fun - Seriously, how much fun is it, to snuggle up to Sailor Moon with your moon kitties all bundled in there with you?! .. Need I really say more!?

Cost - This blanket currently can be found for anywhere between $15.00 and $30.00, depending on where you go.

Availability - If your local Anime store is still running dry for Sailor Moon items, fear not! Amazon and eBay are to the rescue!! Just be careful on who you order from! This blanket is certainly something everyone will love and need during the months to come. And who wouldn't want to snuggle up in a nice pink Sailor Moon blanket with their moon kitties all tucked in and ready to watch a Sailor Moon marathon with a cup of hot coco handy?! Just don't forget the dumplings as a tribute to our dear Odango-Otama. Every moonie needs their food of course!..
