Yet another FBF and this Friday we're going to be looking at the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Jewelry Gashapon Sets. These sets were introduced at the peak of the PGSM show and fandom!

Quality - The quality of these sets are better than most out there. However, they are gashapon sets and shouldn't be taken for something more than just that. While the bracelets and necklace may look like they are made of metal, they truly are not. Instead, it's plastic and what I can only assume is either aluminum or tin, based on how light they are. The earrings themselves are "clip on" earrings and made of plastic. Still all attractive by all means, one should take care if using these for cosplay as they are quite easy to break.

Appearance - I am truly in awe in the details that were made for these sets. First you have the earrings, spot on with the one's in the show (obviously lesser quality of course), set inside their brooches which ALSO have the detailing as they have in the show! And if you're looking to actually use said brooches for cosplay, they even have provided a nice loop for you to use for it! Then we have the bracelets and necklace. The bracelets also seem to be spot on with the series, once again, lesser quality, but still fantastically made to appear as close to the one's they wear! The necklace leaves a bit of a disappointment to it, being incredibly tiny and more simplistic and plastic looking than the others. Still, it's amazing that they were able to capture as much as they could in such a tiny necklace!

Packaging - What can I say about the packaging!? First you have the earrings set in plastic on a cardboard backing INSIDE of their appropriate lockets. Then you have the other jewelry in a plastic bag while they also come with little sacks of their own for taking with you! Truly genius for the Bandai team!

Art - Without there being much artwork aside from some pictures taken for the little pamphlets, we have some fantastic designs going on around the brooch and the bracelets and necklace themselves. Each with every detail possible to bring the show's items true to life for all those little (and big) cosplayers out there.

Functionality - Functionally speaking, these are probably the BEST when it comes to cosplaying accuracy. You have the licensed items with as much detail as possible with what they've provided in cost. Honestly, unless you're spending a lot of time in taking screen shots, looking in the books and really casting your own, this is about as close as one can get to the real deal.

Fun - It's a total blast wearing these items at random occasions. While others might think you're just trying to be fashionable, accenting your outfits with the colors, only you and other Moonies will know of your true identity! Just be careful, you never know when the dark kingdom might strike!

Cost - Unfortunately, the cost can range anywhere from $5 each to $50 each. Depending on where you're purchasing from and who.

Availability - Sadly this particular piece isn't available anywhere at this time. But don't lose hope! These items seem to pop up randomly on eBay from time to time. It's always hard to predict when they will pop up, but eventually a few do during the course of a year.
So while you're sitting in that boring old meeting, or prepping to get those TPS reports done between your boss telling you they're going to "need them", you can wear these and envision yourself fighting the dark kingdom in classic Moonie style. Just be careful and get those reports done before your boss comes over to ask you to work a Saturday. Every Moonie deserves a day off you know.
