We're back!!! And this Tuesday we're going back to school to look at the Sailor Moon Starry Backpack that was introduced as a Hot Topic EXCLUSIVE in 2012!!

Quality - The quality of the backpack is nicely done. It's not as good as some of the Jansport backpacks or anything of the higher quality, but with a decent padding on the back to prevent anything from poking TOO hard through to her back as you wear it, it's rather nice. The material seems fairly sturdy, which means it's likely to last a while if not overloaded. The straps themselves are of course adjustable and padded, which is nice for someone who has to actually use and wear your pack for school with books and such.

Appearance - This backpack is totally adorable with Sailor Moon's name and new logo and of course a very happy, winking Sailor Moon on the front. The stars that go all over the front and sides of the backpack are a nice touch to keep from looking like a decal or iron on just slapped on a regular backpack. The nicest touch of all, is the bow with locket zipper pull. It's made out of rubber/silicone and about as well attached as most of this type, but still, a very nice little addition to an already nicely done backpack.

Packaging - Unfortunately, the packaging in this is rather lacking. I can understand it's meant for displaying in the stores, but unfortunately, it leaves it also to fall to the floor, be carried around and get dirty (or worse, I saw one with a hole poked in it!!!). So be sure to check your backpack very carefully before buying!

Art - The artwork is adorable. With a nice large picture of Sailor Moon's smiling face, what more could you ask for?! The colors are vibrant and the drawing is crisp. It truly is a work of pure art!

Functionality - Functionally speaking, this backpack does exactly what it's set out to do. Carry stuff in it with comfort and style. More so style than comfort though, as if you weigh it down TOO much, as with most backpacks, you might have a bit of wear on the shoulders and back.

Fun - This backpack is way fun to use for simple every day items, to go camping, use for school, work or even to a sleepover! Any way you use it, it's always going to be a blast when Sailor Moon is around!

Cost - Typically these sell for $29.50. But as of 8/21/12, HT is still having their sale of $10 off their backpacks. Reducing it to $19.50. And if you have someone who wants to purchase ANOTHER backpack with you, you can get it 50% OFF as well, making it only $9.75!!

Availability - I've seen these personally at MULTIPLE HT stores and have seen more than one in stock. But if you don't have an HT near you, or they happen to be out because of back to school, they DO sell it on their website as well.

This backpack is definitely going to be the talk of the school no matter WHERE you go. Children will talk about how mommy/daddy/aunty/uncle/etc. used to play with the toys and watch the cartoons and adults using them will reminisce about how they used to do the same. It's definitely more than a conversation piece. It's Sailor Moon herself giving you that ever loving wink and smile telling you every day of school that you can do it!! Believe in yourself!! And if you're not in school and using this backpack, it's all good too! Even using it to venture to the grocery store becomes a senshi mission and everything within just gets 20% cooler when it's stored in here!

  1. Ooh! I was hoping for a review on this one! I love this BP. Glad to hear the quality is alright, but it seems a bit small on the inside though. Not that I use packpacks for school anymore, but I do use them for light traveling and such.

    Anyway, welcome back! XD

    1. It is rather small on the inside. The front pocket does have little pockets for like pencils and a calculator, but nothing practical for someone for traveling (except maybe your phone and lip gloss?). It goes to about 5" when full. But I wouldn't recommend stuffing it to the hilt with items. The stitching looks sturdy, but in my experience, backpacks of this material and stitching don't last long.

Thank you so very much!!! :D
