Today we're going to be taking a look at the Sailor Moon Icon Cap by GE, released in/around May 2012.

 

Quality - As far as quality goes, this hat is really quite nice. It's made of your typical hat like, canvas material. It's got the metal buckle for an adjustable back along with a nice hard brim (albeit a bit short) and some rather tasteful accents around the whole thing.    

Appearance -Appearance wise, this hat is really nicely done. It has the silhouette of Sailor Moon, with planetary symbols wrapped around the strap of the hat. I actually wore it around work to get some nice compliments. The brim is quite small, so it really doesn't do much for the sun, but for style, it's ALL there.

Packaging - Yet again, this piece came to me in a plastic bag courtesy of the sender and nothing more. GE only managed a nice tag to hang off the back. 

Art - I can't say enough about the way the silhouette is done. It's so different than what we've seen in the past, it's actually quite refreshing! Not to mention, having all of the planetary symbols around the hat itself, really adds to it's charm. The sparkling of the pictures really helps them pop out in the sunlight too. Especially against the black and almost neon pink. And finally, the nice touch, is the actual tag itself, with the new logo. Very nice GE, very nice indeed.

Functionality - While I wouldn't recommend this hat to keep the sun out, I would recommend this hat to complete an outfit! Although be aware that the adjustable area in the back is awkwardly placed, so you might have to fix that ponytail a bit to get it to sit just right.

Fun - This hat is a ton of fun to wear! It's tasteful, it has Sailor Moon on it and it's not too flashy to wear with things from casual to semi-dressed up. 

Cost - You can find this hat online for about anywhere from $15.00 to $23.00.

Availability - Unfortunately, because it was recently released, you might not find it at your local anime store, but you can find it online at eBay and Amazon!

 

Overall, if you're looking for a stylish piece to add to your Sailor Moon repertoire, this is it, without a doubt!! Get out that Sailor Moon tee, your new Sailor Moon purse, your flashy Sailor Moon necklace and bracelet, those Sailor Moon earrings and top it with this "boss" new hat to create a look that will surely have your Moonie friends in awe! 

And don't worry, those "looks" people are giving you, is pure jealousy of your total Moonie awesomeness!
