Is it Wednesday already!? Well, that must mean another Sailor Moon Review is in order! So this Wednesday we're going to be taking a look at the Sailor Moon Tote bag released by GE Animation in June 2012.

Quality - Looking at this tote bag you can see a vast improvement from GE's previous efforts. This time we have a more sturdy and thicker canvas type bag with buckle handle. Granted the buckles don't work, it is a nice touch. The printing on the bag itself seems crisp and firmly adhered, so it doesn't look like it will be coming off anytime soon. The bag itself on the inside has a small pocket, not really useable per se.. but still there none-the-less. Finally, the bag itself is rather roomy for all kinds of accessories and/or notebooks.

Appearance - The bag is very attractive and definitely not over the top. We have the 5 original senshi with Luna standing and striking a classic pose, while the new logo rests at the bottom. On each side we have these bands of the planetary symbols, attractively placed to show the width of the bag when in use. Finally the buckles on the front give it just enough of that edge to bring it into the present time.

Packaging - The packaging of this item was a bit lacking once more. While it still has that nice tag to show what it is and such, it was placed in a plastic bag direct from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, I can see that being tossed the moment it would hit more popular store shelves.

Art - The artwork is done very well, with classic poses and recognizable characters. With the added touches of the symbols on the sides, it gives it a certain air of fun and function all in one. Each senshi is given their own little space beside our beloved Sailor Moon, striking a classic pose. Each of them are offering a sweet smile with brilliant colors to display their outfits. Above them, we have their planetary symbol in full color with just a touch of stars around them. Finally, who could forget Luna sitting there at Sailor Moon's feet, ready to give her word to help the senshi.

Functionality - I've been using this bag for a while now and I have to admit, that I am truly impressed. The work I do can mean that bags and purses do not last very long with me. Fortunately, this one seems to be standing up to the task. The only flaws I've seen come thus far, is a couple marks on a couple legs and some dirt. Otherwise, it seems to be holding up quite well! The inside holds quite a bit, while the little pockets do little to nothing to smaller items. I find they are ALWAYS falling out when putting the bag down. The straps are just long enough to put over your shoulder, but still keep it close. As the only way this fastens is with a magnetic button. Though the buckles aren't able to be used, it still offered enough for this to be used as more of a "purse" than a tote.

Fun - This tote is a ton of fun to carry around. I've gotten so many compliments from so many people on how nice and simplistic this looks, while still having a bit of fun with life itself.

Cost - This ranges from $30.00 to $43.00, depending on where you go. A bit on the high side for such a simplistic tote if you ask me.

Availability - As of this moment, there are few places to find this tote bag. You can find it on eBay, Amazon and some select online Anime stores. I personally got mine from RightStuf.com and had no issues. Although be prepared to wait for your item if you do as they have a long backorder list.

This tote is more than a winner in my book! It really shows my Moonie love both at work and home! And functionally speaking, it's so much nicer to have to carry one bag instead of two!! And just think how much fun you could have carrying this bag to the beach, store or even just a friends house! Then you all can awe in the awesomeness that is Sailor Moon!
