It's another Flash Back Friday and this Friday we're going to take a look at the PGSM Collection, lifelike Gashapons that were released by Bandai Japan in 2004 for the popular TV show appropriately named, PGSM.

Quality - The quality of these gashapon are truly amazing. Most of the gashapon that have come out to date for PGSM have been nice, but just not to the same standards as these. The earlier release of the capsule figures that came out (we'll review another time) were nice, but these figures hold a great amount of detail and care to replicate the actress to the best of it's abilities for such a small size. Thus, each piece is crafted to look as identical as possible to not only the actress herself, but the clothing they wear as well! The plastic that is used to manufacture these figures is about up to the normal standards of a small "toy". But truly offers the appearance of something far more.

Appearance - At first glance, one might think these are painted statues or cold cast figures. It's hard to imagine that these are gashapon sized figures! They are remarkably made to look like the actresses of the television show with nice pink stands for them to stand on. That's right, they all STAND this time, in their signature poses to boot! Let's not forget the colors either, as brilliant as they are and a close match to the one's in the show. Although, one might want to take care with that then, if you are one to display these figures in open light, the sun could severely damage the coloring on these figures.

Packaging -The boxes these come in are just as nice as the figures. With the actress on the front making their signature pose and the figure next to them to show the details that comes with each one. The sides offer their typical warnings and information, while the back shows each senshi model that you could collect. Finally, atop the box, we have their signature color, a nice picture and what exactly you're buying.

Art - There really isn't much "artwork" on these, but there is plenty of sculpting and pictures. The pictures are well done to match the figures on the front of the boxes and the figures themselves are phenomenally done. The picture of each on the back offers a glimpse into what others you might be able to add to your collection if you're looking for them.

Functionality - Functionally speaking, these are meant to stand and look spectacular. And that they do, quite well!

Fun - How much fun is it to have these figures standing on your shelves to show off to every person that comes into your home?! The attention to detail itself is enough to beckon your visitors to gaze into it's sheer magnificence!

Cost - I've seen these fetch anywhere from $25 each to $100 a set.

Availability - Unfortunately, since the show has long since past now, one the of the only places that most will find them is eBay and even then it's quite scarce.

If you manage to find these figures online for a fair price, go for it! They truly are a remarkable piece to add to your collection. Be it Sailor Moon or Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (the live action), these figures are sure to brighten your shelves. They may not offer much protection, being only about 4" tall .. but hey, if you're looking to scare away the mighty daddy long legs that manages to creep it's head around to take a peek at your wonderous collection, you can be sure that your senshi figure will surely take care of it in short order! ...

Okay, well maybe not.. but it's a cool thought, ne?
