This Flashback Friday we're looking at the RARE Sailor Moon Stars Fushigina Fantasy Palace toy from Bandai and Toei Japan, 1996.

Quality - When it comes to quality, this set really goes all out. Much like a lot of the earlier toys of my own childhood, this comes in various pieces, with stickers and all gets put together to create what appears to be a rather sturdy toy.

Appearance - This definitely is something to catch your eye. It gives the appearance of a classic 50's like juke-box .. or something of that sort. And yet, it's functional as well! Not to mention, the Eternal Sailor Moon figure in there is definitely really nicely done. Aside from a few paint flaws (even on the box's piece), it really is nice to look at.

Packaging - This piece is really packed well. With sturdy cardboard and cardboard to hold it inside nice and firm. Each piece even comes in a small bag to stay separate from the others for easy assembly. Even Sailor Moon herself is in a nice bag to prevent scratching!

Art - The art on the box is something rarely seen for the Sailor Moon toys. We have Sailor Moon in non-traditional garb. Instead of her school uniform or senshi outfit, we have her dressed as some sort of magician! She's all over the box, though in the same pose, so it's unmistakeable what toy this came from.

Functionality - Aside from it being just a toy, it's also meant to hide your nail polish (which comes with it) from others, sort of a "secret" compartment. I of course use the term loosely, heh. It does what it's set out to do, but somehow I don't think that's going to be a good hiding place for long.

Fun - This toy couldn't be any MORE fun! You get the "Petit" figure of Eternal Sailor Moon to play with, and spin her around to make her disappear! Her arms move slightly, even though the rest does not. And this time around, instead of the wand being gold like the other "Petit" figures that are sold, hers is actually painted!

Cost - This piece isn't exactly the cheapest piece you'll find out there. It ranges from about $119 - $149 thus far.

Availability - Unfortunately, there is only ONE available right now on eBay. This piece is a HARD find. Personally, I've been seeking this toy out for 15 years!! So you can imagine my excitement when I got it!! I highly advise ANYONE out there looking to get it, get it while you can!

I purchased this piece personally off eBay and the seller I got it from "TvManiaJapan2010" was phenomenal in sending it to me. I HAD to plug them out, as this piece was wrapped in 4-5 different layers to prevent anything from happening to it! I HIGHLY recommend them if you're purchasing Sailor Moon items off eBay.
But to close this out, this really is a rare and FUN find. I'm personally finding myself in a dilemma though .. I want so BADLY to just pull it out of the box, put it together, stick those stickers on and play!! Oh the A-G-O-N-Y!!!

Sailor Moon Chan Says!
