It's another flash back Friday and this Friday we're going to be taking a look at the ever popular, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Talking Luna plush by Bandai, released in 2004 for the live action TV show.

Quality - Like most of the products of the PGSM toy line, this one is of the better quality. This plush is both soft and well stitched. The voicebox on the inside does not offer muffling of any kind and offers a clean speech when pressed. The stitching on the plush is well put together with minor maintenance issues over time. Even the beads are acrylic and stitched into the slightly metallic looking collar to match her metallic looking moon.

Appearance - This is by far one of the more adorable Luna plush that has come out. The plush itself is very soft and a nice purple in color. With eyelashes to even add, just like in the TV show! It's got the collar to match as well, with metallic like elements to really give her moon and collar that "pop". The tail and ears are made of a different fabric, brighter and mixed with tinsel. I'm guessing to ensure that people know that the ears and tail are the only transitional elements when she transforms into Sailor Luna.

Packaging - It's very well packaged, although I've noticed because the most of it is that flimsy plastic, it DOES tend to cave a bit. Otherwise, there was no plastic pieces to attach to the box, so there was no worry of ripping it out upon inspection. Instead, ribbons hold her in there! The yellow ribbon that goes around her neck is reminiscent of the ribbon given to her in the Sailor Moon movie. Truly a nice touch by Bandai.

Art - There really isn't much artwork, except for the phrases that are bubbled out around the package. But the fact that we have so many pictures and Sailor Luna on the back (along with the other products you can buy) is adorable. Unfortunately, no little animated Luna on the box however, which I would have thought would have been an adorable touch myself.

Functionality - This toy is meant to speak a LARGE variety of phrases and that it does! You can press her head, tail or paw(s) and she'll speak a variant of phrases, depending on where you've touched her and how long you've let her sit and even how many times you've touched her in those places!!

Fun - This truly is a fun toy. The box on the bottom doesn't obstruct from the cuddle factor at all, which is nice. And who doesn't want a little Luna talking to them!?

Cost - As of right now, it's going for about $115 - $150 in box. At the time of release, I believe I spent about $75 with shipping for her.

Availability - Thus far, because she is a vintage item, you can find her on eBay only. She hasn't inflated much, so it's definitely worth considering if you're thinking about getting this particular plush.

Any way you look at it, this plush is totally adorable! It's so much fun to play with and snuggle with. And the phrases she says are just too cute for words! The nice part is, it doesn't take a fluent speaker of Japanese to figure out what she's saying either! Especially when you pull her tail.. hehe.
