Though I'm a bit later than normal today, we're going to be looking at the Sailor Moon PVC Wristband from GE, released late 2011/early 2012. We're going to be taking a specific look at the first one released and the most common one thus far.

Quality - The quality of this particular wristband is actually quite nice. It's thick and very pliable, and is attractive to look at as well. The stars are actually molded into the band, as well as the "Sailor Moon" typing and crescent moon. Sailor Moon however seems to be just printed on there rather poorly. When looking afar, one might not see the immediate misprinting in 99% of these wristbands.

Appearance - While this is an attractive wristband, set with a nice blue with white stars, lettering and moon, we have a rather poorly printed Sailor Moon on there to offset the wristband itself. Most often I've seen the blue bleeding through the yellow, the red overlapping, the white looking almost dirty and the ink work offset from the rest of the image. While GE seemed to have done a great job on the actual bracelet itself, the print job is less than sub-par. Matter of fact, when looking around my local Hot Topic when these bracelets came in, the bracelet pictured was the BEST out of at least 10 they had received.

Packaging - Unfortunately, GE didn't package these into small plastic packages and instead, just left them wrapped in a piece of cardboard for hanging. Because of this, more often than not, I see these bracelets looking quite dirty.

Art - The artwork itself on the package is all too familiar, with the pink background, Luna, Sailor Moon holding her wand .. well, you get the picture. The Sailor Moon on the band itself, has Sailor Moon smiling quite happily, giving us a peace sign.

Functionality - Functionally speaking, this bracelet does it well. I bought two of these bracelets, one to save and one to have fun with. I've personally worn my bracelet during work, shopping, playing with the kids, yard work, you name it! .. And this bracelet has stood up to my expectations! No scratches, tearing, scuffing. I'm actually quite impressed! Not to mention, if you're like me and forget to take jewelry off in the shower, it's more than awesome it's waterproof.

Fun - It's always a good time, when Sailor Moon is hanging around! Especially when she's stylishly stationed on your wrist! And with those big bold white letters, there will be no mistaking who you are sporting, showing off your Moonie pride!

Cost - Because there are so many places you can get this from, the price range is quite broad. I've seen this piece going anywhere from $3.50 to $12.00 USD.

Availability - Presently, these wristbands are still available at your local Hot Topic and (as of 5/30/12) are currently BOGO 50% off! If you're no where near a Hot Topic, your local store is sold out, or HT.com doesn't ship to you, you can always find it on eBay or Amazon as well.
This bracelet is definitely a fun addition to any Moonie's wardrobe or collection. It sits nicely on a shelf, or can hang from a pin. Or if you're looking to wear it, it's quite comfortable, while leaving enough room to move around a bit and not stick to you. You can wear it almost anywhere to boot while not having to worry about the weather! .. Although, I probably wouldn't recommend wearing this bracelet say, to your wedding with your pretty white dress and all ......... they have a white one for that!
